STRETCH Park and Ride Service Starts Mon Dec 3rd

STRETCH, a park and ride service, is set to begin service on Monday, December 3rd.  The service is brought to the Quad Cities through a partnership between Davenport CitiBus, Metrolink, Bettendorf Transit, the Iowa and Illinois Departments of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration.

With STRETCH you can commute between both sides of the river with ease, avoiding the traffic congestion associated with I-74 bridge construction.

To conquer your commute, you simply park your vehicle at the Burlington Coat Factory in Bettendorf, board STRETCH, and travel to your destination. The service offers stops at both the Centre Station in Moline, and the District Station in Rock Island.

The Stretch Route to Moline runs every thirty minutes during peak times and every hour during non-peak times.  The Stretch Route to Rock Island, via the Centennial Bridge, operates on an hourly schedule.

In addition to the stops mentioned, STRETCH has convenient connecting rides on all three of the Quad City area transit services, as well as, Ride Share Opportunities.

Riding STRETCH is FREE.  Fares do apply if you connect and ride one of the other transit services.

STRETCH is wheel chair accessible, features free on-board access to Wi-Fi, and is able to accommodate two bikes.

For information on the route and to plan your trip, download the TransLoc app on your mobile device and add the Davenport CitiBus, Quad City Metro and Bettendorf transit systems, or browse your travel options using Google Maps.  Find ride share information at www.iowarideshare.org.

Service begins, Monday, December 3rd.

Funding for STRETCH is made possible by the Iowa and Illinois Departments of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration.

Four of Davenport CitiBus buses were rehabilitated and repurposed for STRETCH with funds from grants from the Iowa Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration.  The STRETCH service is provided by this fleet of four buses.
