Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports

The City of Davenport's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report is presented in three sections:  introductory, financial and statistical.

  • The introductory section includes the transmittal letter, the City's organizational chart and a list of principal officials.
  • The financial section includes the independent auditor's report, management discussion and analysis, the basic financial statements, the combining and individual fund statements, debt service requirement schedules and the schedule of expenditures of federal awards.
  • The statistical section includes selected financial and demographic information presented on a multi-year basis.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Davenport, Iowa for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.  In order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement, a governmental unit must publish an easily readable and efficiently organized Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, whose contents conform to program standards.  Such reports must satisfy both accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America and applicable legal requirements.

A Certificate of Achievement is valid for a period of one year only.  We believe our current report continues to conform to Certificate of Achievement Program requirements, and we are submitting it to GFOA to determine its eligibility.
