Did you know many subdivisions and other property types in Davenport are responsible for maintaining stormwater detention practices that serve the neighborhood or development?

Maintenance may be the responsibility of property owners, developers, or Homeowners Associations, but more often than not, property owners are unaware, and detention ponds are neglected. 

Neglected detention practices can contribute to downstream issues such as increased localized flooding and increased pollution carrying run-off to our waterways.

You or your HOA could be responsible for costs associated with updating detention ponds and practices found in poor condition.

The City inspects detention practices once every five years to ensure proper function. Those responsible for maintenance are responsible for updating detention found to be in poor condition during the inspection.

How do I find out who is responsible for maintenance?
