Coming Soon: Main Street Landing

Coming Soon: Main Street Landing
Posted on 03/04/2025

(December 3, 2024) Main Street Landing is coming to the Davenport riverfront, as the Davenport City Council approved the bid submitted by Valley Construction Company of Rock Island to build the attraction.

Main Street Landing is a four-season park, plaza and green space that will transform the area between the roller dams downriver to LeClaire Park.

Some of the main features include a pedestrian bridge built over the railroad tracks, providing a safe crossing into the park. The signature play tower, roller dam slides, and interactive water feature are designed especially for Davenport, incorporating the majesty of the riverfront with nods to the rail and industrial roots of the City. The multi-use flex space is ready for all four seasons - from a sandy beach in the summer to an ice rink in the winter. The east end of the park will be built into scenic hillsides and natural grass areas.

The project is made possible in part by a $9.6 million grant awarded by Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds through Destination Iowa, a program funding projects that support quality of life and tourism efforts in the state.

Other elements of the project are also supported by other funding sources, including:
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) | $6 million
Canadian Pacific Rail Settlement | $6 million
Figge Art Museum Private Fundraising | $2.4 million

Stay tuned for updates in Spring 2025 on the start of construction!
