The City of Davenport is pleased to announce Basia Gerlach as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Gerlach currently serves as Controller and Interim Chief Budget Officer. She’s worked for the City of Davenport since 2010.

Gerlach is a Certified Public Financial Officer with a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Benedictine University. In her new role as CFO, Gerlach will lead the City’s Finance Department by managing day-to-day financial operations, budget planning, and providing oversight of revenue and purchasing.

“I look forward to working closely with our Mayor, City Council, and leadership team to ensure our financial strategies align with the needs and priorities of our residents,” Gerlach said. “As CFO, my priority will be to ensure financial transparency and the long-term sustainability of our municipality.”

The City of Davenport is consistently recognized by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), including the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. These honors demonstrate the diligence of the Finance team in meeting guidelines for transparency, documentation, and accessibility of financial information to the general public.

“Under Basia’s continued leadership, the City of Davenport will keep its commitment to managing public resources responsibly and effectively,” said Doug Maxeiner, City Administrator. “Her expertise will be instrumental in meeting the challenges ahead.”
